PLANTING:
Use some method to break up the soil (plow, disk, drag, etc.) to expose the dirt.  If the grass/brush is tall or heavy, clear it away first.  For best results, do a soil test for pH.  Use a grain drill or no-till drill after preparing a good seed bed.  A hand seeder works good for small plots.  Drag, roll or culti-pack the seedbed to cover the seed with 1/4" of soil.  Can be mowed 1-2 times/year to reduce weed competition and encourage growth.
RECOMMENDED DATES:
When soil temp is 55-70 degrees
LOCATION:
Most food plots require at least 30% sunlight.  Soil test for nutrient and pH needs.  No swampy areas.
FERTILIZER:
Fertilize with 17-17-17 or similar, 3 times a year (spring, summer, fall) using 100 lbs/acre.
